How to reinstall apps on your Nokia Lumia 710

If you’re at all like us, you like to keep your Nokia Lumia 710 relatively lean and free of superfluous apps. If we haven’t used an app in a while, we’ll reach for the uninstall button without hesitation. But what happens when we want to reinstall such apps? How do we even remember what we’ve bought and downloaded? Read on to find out.

How To make full use of multitasking on your Nokia Lumia 710

With 8GB of physical storage and a further 25GB of online storage thanks to SkyDrive, the Nokia Lumia 710 can soak up lots of apps.

However, with more and more outstanding apps and games becoming available on the Marketplace, and with Windows Phone’s outstanding multimedia capabilities, you will fill that space up eventually.

Judicious pruning is in order, then. But that’s no great bind with the Windows Phone OS’s easy-peasy uninstall system. Just press and hold, then hit uninstall!

When it comes to identifying which apps you’ve bought and then quickly reinstalling them, there’s a simple process in place. Simply head on over to the Windows Phone website on your PC or Mac – you know, the one that lets you access the Marketplace – and select My Phone. Log in with your Windows Live ID if necessary, then select Account. Below your Personal Information you’ll see your Application Purchase History.

This lists all of the apps you’ve ever downloaded, regardless of whether they’re full purchases or free demos. You’ll also find the date you downloaded each app and an image tile to help you identify them. Here’s the really important bit: each app has a Reinstall option alongside it, which will push the app to your phone in no time at all. In fact, after you’ve done it the first time it’ll only take two clicks.

So, you can wipe off those little used apps with impunity, safe in the knowledge that there’s a very handy – and very easy to use – facility for restoring them at some point in the future.
