Nokia’s constantly feeding its slick Nokia Trailers app with new film clips. We’ve got some exciting ones for you this time – including films featuring two of the most iconic heroes ever, James Bond and Superman.
Bond is back following a pretty lengthy hiatus. It’s been four years since The Quantum of Solace, but Daniel Craig retains the title role and Judi Dench returns as the grumpy M. Indeed, Skyfall looks to involve the venerable English actress even more. Nasty Javier Bardem is out to destroy her and MI6, and it’s up to Bond to stop him (and his dodgy blonde mullet). Sam Mendes adds impressive pedigree in the director’s chair, though it’ll be interesting to see how he handles a breathless action pic like this.
Man Of Steel
Speaking of iconic come-backs, Superman returns to the big screen in 2013, and the hype machine is steadily cranking up. As anyone who watched The Dark Knight Rises at the cinema (which is everyone, surely?) will know, the first teaser trailers have been released for Man of Steel, and now you can watch them on your Nokia Lumia. Directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen), you can expect plenty of stylised shots and muscular action – although these trailers suggest a more muted, sombre tone. England’s own Henry Cavill has been cast as the man of steel himself.
What’s Will Ferrell up to these days? He’s about to star in a political comedy film called The Campaign, for one thing. Co-Starring Zach Galafianakis, it’s all about two southern politicians competing for a single seat in the US House of Representatives. Ferrell plays the confident, slick incumbent candidate Cam Brady, who is unexpectedly challenged by Galafianakis’s honest, naive Marty Huggins. Expect plenty of low-brow humour, general silliness and a fair few digs at real life political figures.
The Man With The Iron Fists
Now here’s an unlikely concept – a martial arts epic starring and directed by gangster rapper RZA, co-starring Russell Crowe, and written by horror maestro Eli Roth. This isn’t some weird fan wish list – it’s actually a real film. Set in feudal China, it’s all about a blacksmith (RZA) who comes to an oppressed village’s aid. It’s a crazy mixture of ingredients that could prove to be a bit of a mess, but we’re fascinated to see the results either way!
Rise Of The Guardians
The latest computer animated film to come from the Dreamworks stable is Rise Of The Guardians. Based on a popular kids book, it’s all about a coming together of the guardians – that’s Jack Frost, Santa Claus, The Sandman, The Tooth Fairy and The Easter Bunny – to protect the world’s youth from the Nightmare King. With 3D visuals and a suitably stellar voice cast including Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine and Jude Law, expect this one to be a hit with the kiddie winks.
