The Nokia Lumia 620 has landed here in the UK and we’ve been fortunate enough to get our hands on this amazing entry-level Windows Phone 8 smartphone. The 3.8-inch screen is sharp and bright, the design is amazing and the covers a breath of fresh air. Check out our Nokia Lumia 620 unboxing and hands-on.
The first thing you notice about the Nokia Lumia 620 is how well sculpted an amazing it looks. This isn’t a smartphone put together to meet a price point, it’s an entry-level smartphone that packs in the full Windows Phone 8 experience and brings with it the full array of Nokia apps and services, from Nokia Maps for getting around, to Nokia Music for free music on the go, all in one package.
What really struck us about the design of the Nokia Lumia 620 is that while the 3.8-inch screen offers more space that that of the Nokia Lumia 800, the phone is actually smaller and more compact! The curved body of the shell gives it an amazing feel in the hand and everyone we’ve shown it to has commented on how good it feels resting in the palm of your hand.
The Nokia Lumia 620 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and is backed by 512MB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal memory and a microSD slot that is capable of handling cards up to 64GB in size. You’ll find the microSD slot on the back of the phone (under the cover) so you can hot-swap memory cards if needs be.
While the base tech spec may not be as powerful as the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, for example, we’ve found it quick and reliable with no signs of lag when running all the core functions. Even video runs like a dream on the Nokia Lumia 620.
We’ll be bringing you a full review once we’ve had a full chance to check it out. In the mean time, check out the video below and if you have any question drop them in the Comments below and we’ll try our best to answer them.
